Between Omaha Beach and Utah Beach.In the early morning of June 6, 1944, the Pointe du Hoc was stormed by Colonel Rudder's rangers, during Operation Overlord.At this point, the German soldiers had set up fortifications on the edge of the cliffs which reach a height of almost 30m.During your visit to the Pointe du Hoc, you will find an artillery battery, a sniper post, bunkers and shelters dating back to the Normandy landings, a key chapter in the end of World War II.Many information boards are dotted around the site, providing historical and technical details.
